Ramsey Leadership Conversation Builds Bridges with PACT
At the August 2025 School Board meeting, PACT Charter School welcomed Brian Hagen, the City Administrator for Ramsey, for a leadership discussion centered on expanding partnerships and opportunities for students. The conversation highlighted the potential for the city and school to collaborate through civic engagement, career exploration, field trips, and classroom visits. Ramsey Police Chief Brad Bluml also participated, emphasizing a commitment to forming meaningful connections with students and families. He highlighted the importance of officers being visible at schools in a friendly and approachable manner to build a stronger sense of community. From reading to elementary students and attending school events to simply being a familiar, welcoming presence on campus, the department aims to support student development both inside and outside the classroom. Chief Bluml also discussed Ramsey’s Explorers program, which focuses on character and leadership development – values that match PACT’s mission. The main aim of this program is to introduce young adults aged 14 to 21 to law enforcement and community service, offering hands-on experience and mentorship to help guide their future careers. Dr. Flansburg, PACT’s Superintendent, expressed his hope for officers to join students for lunch and become a natural part of campus life. “We want students to see our officers not just as protectors, but as part of our school family,” he said. He also mentioned that the Ramsey SWAT team used the school building for a training session last summer, further familiarizing themselves with our facility. This collaborative discussion represented a significant step toward forming stronger partnerships that support students and strengthen the school’s ties to the broader Ramsey community.
