Specialists at PACT

At PACT, we believe joyful learning happens everywhere—including beyond the core classroom! Our specialist classes provide students with opportunities to discover, create, move, and imagine. Through weekly instruction in music, art, physical education, library, and Character Corner, students build confidence, develop character, express themselves, and experience the joy of learning in new and meaningful ways.

Art Class

In elementary art class, students have the opportunity to explore their creativity through a variety of hands-on projects. They use tools and techniques such as painting, drawing, coloring, and collage to learn about the basic elements of art: line, color, shape, texture, and space, all in a fun and engaging way.

Each lesson is designed to develop artistic skills while encouraging imagination, self-expression, and joy in the creative process. Students learn to view the world through an artistic lens, making informed choices about color and design as they create original works of art that reflect their unique ideas.

At PACT, art is a joyful and essential part of the elementary experience, helping students build confidence and celebrate the beauty of creativity.

Character Corner (grade K-2)

Each week, our K–2 students participate in Character Corner, a joyful enrichment class that focuses on character development. This time is all about building strong foundations—both in values and curiosity!

Through engaging hands-on activities, students explore PACT character traits while connecting them to fun experiences in STEM, creativity, and what it means to be part of the PACT community.

Character Corner is all about who we are becoming and the joy of learning together.

Library Media Center

The Library Media Center at PACT is a lively and inviting space where students are encouraged to read, explore, and grow as learners. Created to boost literacy in both print and digital formats, the library promotes a love of reading while helping students develop vital research and information skills.

In this collaborative setting, students interact with stories and resources that spark curiosity, imagination, and cultural awareness. They also build character and critical thinking skills as they learn how to find, evaluate, and responsibly use information.

Whether discovering a new favorite book or learning to navigate digital tools, the Library Media Center supports students in becoming thoughtful, informed, and lifelong learners

Music Class

Music education nurtures the whole child, fostering growth in creativity, confidence, self-expression, and critical thinking. At PACT, we recognize the vital role music plays in a well-rounded education and are proud to offer a comprehensive elementary music program that supports students in their growth and academic success.

Students in grades K–5 participate in the Quaver music curriculum, an interactive and fun way to learn music basics. Through singing, movement, rhythm, instruments, and games, students develop musical skills while enjoying themselves. Lessons focus on concepts like beat, pitch, melody, tempo, and dynamics, all taught in age-appropriate and cheerful ways.

Music at PACT is more than just a class; it’s a celebration of creativity and an opportunity for students to find their unique voice.

Physical Education

Healthy fitness habits help build strong bodies and active minds. In elementary physical education, students develop these lifelong habits through engaging lessons focused on movement, physical activity, performance, fitness, and motor skill development.

Using the Minnesota State Standards and the SPARK PE curriculum as a foundation, our PE program is designed to promote physical literacy in a fun and supportive environment. Students participate in a wide variety of activities, including team sports, individual fitness challenges, cooperative games, and skill-based movement units. Throughout the year, students also learn about the importance of healthy habits—like staying active, making good choices, and working as a team.

PE at PACT is all about building confidence, coordination, and a love for being active!
