Character & Conduct
Character and Conduct
At PACT Charter School, strong character and positive conduct form the foundation of a joyful, respectful, and productive learning environment. On this page, you will find our student expectations, behavioral supports, and the nine character traits we teach and reinforce throughout the campus.
Our Commitments
We ask all students to contribute to a school culture that is:
- Safe
- Respectful
- Inclusive
- Supportive of learning
These values guide how we treat each other, approach learning, and engage as members of our school community.
Behavior Expectations
At PACT, expectations should be clear, consistent, and supportive. Our schoolwide expectations:
- Are positively stated
- Are visually posted across campus
- Are modeled and practiced regularly
- Reflect our school mission and character traits
Staff employ positive reinforcement, modeling, and responsive classroom practices to help students meet expectations. When a student struggles, we respond with support and empathy, always aiming to restore relationships and promote learning.

We acknowledge that growth requires time, and students benefit from a tiered system of behavioral support:

Disciplinary Protocols
When student behavior does not align with expectations, we address it through a respectful and educational process. Depending on the situation, responses may include:
- Reflection or restorative conversations
- Logical consequences
- Parent communication
- Support planning
- Administrative involvement when necessary
Our approach prioritizes growth, learning, and the safety and well-being of all students.
Partnering with Families
We understand that students thrive when home and school collaborate. We encourage families to:
- Talk about character traits at home
- Reinforce behavior expectations
- Reach out with questions or concerns
- Collaborate with staff when additional support is needed
Together, we create a school where students feel recognized, appreciated, and empowered to perform their best.
PACT Character Traits
Character development is a fundamental aspect of our school culture. These traits are integrated into daily learning, recognized in students, and celebrated through assemblies, classroom acknowledgments, and school-wide programs. We teach, model, and celebrate nine character traits throughout the year:
-
Understanding that something is good, valuable, and important and should be treated in an appropriate way.
-
Being a responsible member of a community.
-
Showing appreciation and thanks.
-
Helping someone in need and working together to alleviate through sympathy.
-
Being honest, fair, and adhering to a moral code.
-
Working together by being helpful and doing what is asked.
-
Ability to control one's emotions, behavior, and desires in the face of external demands in order to function in community.
-
Doing what is morally right and expected to do.
-
Continuing to do something even when it is difficult while adhering to a belief or purpose.
